FUAC Competes At George Mason University
This past weekend Fork Union Aquatic Club swimmers competed in the QDD Invitational at George Mason University. With over 400 swimmers competing in the meet, it was sure to be a fast competition. FUAC sent 15 local athletes to the meet ranging in age from 8 to 16. Fluvanna native Lindsay Price came up gold with three individual wins in the eight and under age group (50 yard breaststroke, 50 yard butterfly, and 200 yard individual medley). The team registered an incredible 28 lifetime personal best times, and 16 top 10 finishes. According to Coach Bocci, Head Coach and Aquatics Director, "It's great that they are swimming really fast this early in the season. We've done a great job focusing on the small details and technique work that sets us apart and it's a sign of good things to come."
Next weekend the teams' Senior Groups travel to West Virginia University for a competition. The team will proudly represent Virginia and Fluvanna County swimming. For more information on the club programs, including the competitive swim team and learn-to-swim lessons, please contact Jim Bocci, Head Swim Coach 434/842-4210.
