Sydney Johnson (FUMA '93) named new Princeton head basketball coach
Congratulations to another FUMA alumus whose success story began here...
Sydney Johnson, who played here for Coach Arritt in 92-93, has been named the new head basketball coach at Princeton.
Johnson was a four-year starter and three-year captain of the Princeton basketball team following his postgraduate year at FUMA -- the only 3-time captain in Princeton history. He was named Ivy League Player of the Year in 1997 when the Princeton Tigers went undefeated in Ivy League competition.
He played professional basketball in Europe before returning to the states to accept an assistant coaching position at Georgetown where he has coached the past three years. Johnson helped coach Georgetown to a Final Four this season.
