Fork Union Military Academy - Our motto is Body, Mind, and Spirit. Success stories begin here.

Hokie Hope

Hokie Hope

No words can express the sympathy and grief that we feel during this tragic time. It is a reminder of the pain our nation has suffered many times before - the events that have shaped our country and become a part of history.

Only history books, autobiographies and letters share the pain and sorrow many before us have gone through during tragic events, wars, natural disasters and attacks on our freedom. Now we have radio, television, cell phones, computers and a vast wave of technology that brings us the information in the midst of an event.

We must look at all the information and choose for ourselves what is most important during a time like this. We must remember that our faith and our inner strength will lead us to carry on and know in our heart what needs to be done to offer help and guidance to those who have suffered during tragedy.

We cannot dwell on blame and "what if." It will not change "what is." It only deepens our sorrow, shatters our heart, and damages our soul. We must look in ourselves and believe that God is our only judge.

Let us pray for the families, the Blacksburg community, the friends of the victims, and all who have been touched by this tragedy. Look around and see that the nation is reaching out to show its support and love.

The rest is left to Him.

Ribbons in the Virginia Tech colors of maroon and burnt orange can be found across campus as FUMA honors those affected by the tragic events on the Virginia Tech campus on April 16, 2007.
