Mostrag's Performance at FUMA Invitational

Courtesy of Brandon Miles, MileStat.com

The rest of the country better not be sleeping on Fork Union senior Axel Mostrag again. Last year at Nike Indoor Nationals, Mostrag showed those on the national scene how talented of a middle distance runner he is by nearly bringing his team's distance medley relay far from behind for a national championship and finishing up as a national runner-up for 800 meters. After his performance in the 1600 meter run at the Fork Union Indoor Invitational, anyone would be foolish to make the same mistake again to overlook the Polish national.

Mostrag broke the meet and facility 1600 meter record of 4:19.96 held by one of the high school greats at the mile distance in Seneca Lassiter, a Williamsburg product from Lafayette High School.

FUMA Track wins Home Invitational

The Indoor track team won their home Invitational this past weekend. In a meet where several states best times were ran, FUMA came out on top to show why they are currently ranked #2 overall in the State.

One of the most impressive performances was Axel Mostrag (Poland). He ran a nation's best 1600m at FUMA's 18 year old indoor facility. This feat was not only impressive due to it's #1 ranking, but he beat the meet record held by a former world class miler.

The team is looking great towards the end of the indoor season and looks to be in a great position to continue their Outdoor State Championship streak of 19 year in a row. Let's keep up the support for #20!

Photos have been posted on www.fumatrack.com. Excerpt compliments of Dave Fleenor, FUMA, Class of 1988.
