Broadcast Schedule for "NFL Films Presents" about FUMA

Fork Union Military Academy is to be the featured subject of an upcoming episode of the highly respected sports documentary show "NFL Films Presents" airing multiple times on both ESPN and the NFL Network in the coming days. Fork Union Military Academy has produced more NFL football players than any other prep school in the nation, as well as two Heisman Trophy winners at the college level.

A sneak preview of the show will be available for those intrepid souls who can't wait and don't mind staying up very late or getting up very early (the rest of you might wish to set your video recorder or TiVo machines). This first "sneak preview" airing of the new "NFL Films Presents" episode is expected to be on November 20, 2006 at 3:00am on the ESPN network.

The episode is then currently scheduled to air on ESPN at the more accessible time of 1:30pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2006.

On the NFL Network, the show is expected to air on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 12:00 noon. The NFL Network is moving its broadcast of "NFL Films Presents" from the current Friday evening at 8:30pm schedule, to this new noontime slot on Saturdays. Local listings may still show "NFL Films Presents" in the Friday evening time, but the show is expected to have moved time slots by the time this episode airs Thanksgiving week.

The film crew from NFL Films arrived on the Fork Union Military Academy campus just prior to Parents Weekend in October and spent four days recording interviews and events on campus. Former NFL greats like Eddie George, Don Majkowski, Will Furrer and others returned to Fork Union to reflect for the NFL cameras on what their time at the school had meant in their lives and careers. The show is also expected to feature comments from FUMA's Director of Admissions, Steve Macek, and current FUMA coaches Micky Sullivan, John Shuman, as well as legendary retired coach Red Pulliam.

More than seventy alumni of Fork Union Military Academy have played for NFL teams, from the early days of the league until now. More than a dozen active NFL players on this season's rosters attended FUMA, including star wide receivers like Plaxico Burress of the New York Giants, Ernest Wilford of the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Billy McMullen of the Minnesota Vikings, as well as other longtime veterans like offensive tackle Roman Oben of the San Diego Chargers and linebacker Dexter Coakley of the St. Louis Rams.
