FUMA Wins Albemarle Invitational

Two weeks after a tough meet at Maymont Park the FUMA harriers returned to their winning ways with a convincing win at the Albemarle Invitational. Axel Mostrag won the individual title with a 16:07 performance. It was Mostrag's second invitational win this season. Szymon Rola was also in the top ten finishing eighth. The appeared close for most of the way until the final mile when seniors David Johnson and Jamie Reichlen steadily moved up through the pack. Johnson would nearly catch FUMA three- man Jeremy Haney. Reichlen was the meets first fifth man to finish. Also having a big day was sophomore Caleb Haney and junior Patrick Hayes. Caleb Haney finished eighth in the highly competitive JV race and Patrick Hayes was one of the top sixth man finishers.

The Albemarle Invitational represented the end of the Invitational season. FUMA had its most successful season ever for Invitationals as the varsity won four of the five they entered. Next up for the team is a meet at Collegiate on the 24th and then two championship meets in November.
