Jr Prep Tackles Orange County High School
The Junior Prep football team played at Orange County High School on Thursday, September 7th. They were victorious 20 to 0 in their first showing of the season. The highlight of the game was the defense, which shut down Orange and managed to provide not one, but two interceptions for touchdowns. The offense looked good, which was anchored by the five men up front.
Congratulations to the Junior Preppers. The Prep team rolls up to the Philadelphia area today for a game Saturday against Valley Forge Military Academy. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm.
After starting the first play of the game with a turnover (fumble), the offense starting moving the ball down the field and 30 yards later on a run by Andy Tembon, the offense had put the Blue Devils up 6-0 and would not look back once again until the final horn blew. The Blue Devils' defense came out roaring that next series, which was topped off by Jonathan Witt's interception for a touchdown. The two point conversion failed and FUMA was now up 12-0. After moving the ball down a short field the offense stalled out once again inside the 20 yard line and that is how the first half ended. The 3rd quarter was dominated by the Orange offense until Andy Tembon made his second interception of the game to change the momentum and stall out Orange's success. At the end of the 3rd quarter, Anthony Williams returned another Orange interception into 6 points. The 2-point conversion was successful on a QB option by Jahmeal Quarles-Belt and ended FUMA's scoring for the night. The final score was 20-0 when the final horn blew.
Defensive Leaders:
Andy Tembon - 2 Interceptions
Anthony Williams - 1 Interception, TD
Jonathan Witt - 1 Interception, TD
