Fork Union Wins FUMA Invitational

Coach Winston Brown and the Cross Country team celebrated their second win of the season at the FUMA Invitational on Saturday, September 9th in Fork Union! It was cause for another celebration as Coach Brown turned 41 on Sunday - Happy Birthday!

The Blue Devils were led by race winner Axel Mostrag, who covered the Hardy National 3 mile course in 15:39 as he held off a strong challenge to the end from Manchester's Andrew Duty (15:40). Fork Union had four more finishers in the top 22 places with Szymon Rola (5th, 15:49), Jeremy Haney (9th, 16:00), David Johnson (12th, 16:14), and Jamie Reichlen (22nd, 16:47) to finish with a team score of 49 points as Western Albemarle took second with 77 points and gave FUMA a stronger challenge the second time around, especially in the early and mid-stages of the race.
