Prep Baseball suffered a tough loss on Thursday, May 4th as they traveled to St. Christopher's in Richmond only to lose 6 to 0. Matt Smith gave FUMA a good chance to win, settling in after a rocky 3 run first inning for the Saints. There were not many highlights for Fork Union in either facet of the game, offense or defense, but Hunter Fairchild laid down a beautiful bunt that advanced the runner to second and put the runner on first in scoring position. Yet, the plague of strikeouts resurfaced for the Blue Devils as they failed to convert with runners in scoring position. Again, FUMA looks ahead for Friday's rematch against Trinity. Prep will finish the year with their toughest opponents, which include perennial champs STAB and again at home versus St. Christophers.
