FUMA Alumnus Speaks at Greater Issues Forum

Dion Trahan, FUMA Class of 1998, became the second graduate to address the Fork Union Military Academy Greater Issues Forum when he spoke to members of the Cadet Corps and Academy community on May 16, 2006. Dion was the Brigade Commander during his senior year and since leaving FUMA has received an undergraduate degree from The Citadel and a law degree from LSU.

Also a member of the Louisiana National Guard, Dion served a combat tour as an armored platoon leader in Iraq.

In his message Dion focused on the impact FUMA has made, and continues to make, in his life. He continually emphasized that FUMA graduates depart the school with all the tools they will need for a successful life, and implored the cadets to take the values learned as members of the Corps and use them to become character-driven men who are strong enough to do what is right in what has become a troubled world.
