Prep Baseball: First ever win for FUMA over Covenant
FUMA Prep Baseball came from behind yesterday to beat Covenant 5 to 4 at Covenant's field outside of Charlottesville. This marks the first time Fork Union has ever beat Covenant in the history of the school. Wes Sherrill started on the mound against his former teammates of Covenant and was able to keep the runs to a minimum for Michael Walker to come in for the seventh inning to shut them down. Carl Daniel went 3 for 4 with a double to the deepest part of the ballpark and Michael Walker had another huge double that drove in Carl Daniel and Donny Outlaw to put FUMA up 5 to 4 in the top of the seventh. Donny Outlaw and Mickey Hnat also had proficient bats throughout the game. Michael Walker ended up getting the win and is now 3-0 in prep league play.
