Junior Prep vs. Christchurch
The FUMA Jr. Prep baseball won their second consecutive game at home vs. Christchurch. The seven inning affair went on for 3 1/2 hours due to taking time out to maintain the playing field by the FUMA ground-crew; heading by the FUMA coaching staff and Cadet Hubert.
After a 4 to 0 lead through four innings, the Blue Devils saw their lead taken away after a series of mishaps that lead to seven unearned runs by the visitors from Christ Church. After Ron Berscak scored the apparent winning run in the bottom half of the sixth inning, sophomore Rob Shermer closed his seven innings on the mound with the victory. Shermer struck out ten of the visiting teams' batters on the day. The Blue Devils were paced at the plate by Shermer's homerun, Josh Brown's triple, and singles by Kyle Andrews and Ron Berscak. FUMA plays at home Monday April 25th vs. Trinity Catholic.
