First Home-Runs of the Year

First Home-Runs of the Year contribute to two-game Christchurch rout

Fork Union Prep Baseball traveled to Christchurch School yesterday for their second double-header of the year in prep league play. They swept both games handily as the bats livened up for FUMA. Michael Walker pitched the first 5 inning game giving up only one unearned run on three hits. Donny Outlaw homered to left-center field to break it open and Christchurch would never recover. Matt Smith got his first prep league win in the second game giving up only two runs as FUMA drove in ten and routed Christchurch again. Mike Walker crushed a solo home run to deep left-center in the second game. Defense was solid throughout the game with Mike Walker, Hunter Fairchild, and Chance Dickerson making key plays. Andrew Stout made his debut in the 7th inning and Judd Knibbe played a flawless game at shortstop.
