Swimmers Take Second in Home Invitational
FUMA swimming and diving placed second behind Collegiate at the school's first home invitational in the new pool. Trailing FUMA were Benedictine and Orange County High School. On the girls' side Collegiate beat St Gertrude's and Orange. In diving FUMA defeated a strong Collegiate team with individuals placing 1st and 4th. Once again FUMA had strong showings in the relays, placing 2nd in the 200 meter medley relay, and 1st in the 200 meter freestyle relay. The team also recorded 25 individual personal best times.
FUMA Highlights:
Cadet Koeda (Sophomore) just missed qualifying for the State Championship meet in the 100 Breaststroke by .01 second.
Cadet Brown (Sophomore) won the one meter diving competition.
Cadet McAfee (Junior) posted a personal best time 100 Fly, finishing 4th overall.
1st place finishes by W. Trainor (200 meter freestyle and 100 meter backstroke events)
Cadet Calhoun placed 2nd in the 50 meter freestyle and 100 meter breaststroke.
FUMA also won the 200 meter freestyle relay.
