Hargrave Swimmers Dunk FUMA
FUMA swimming and diving met its first home loss in the new pool against Hargrave Military. FUMA appeared to get off to a great start in the 200 meter medley relay, but the FUMA "A" relay team was disqualified for an early start. (They would have won the event by a comfortable margin). FUMA rallied by winning the 50 meter freestyle event, 200 freestyle relay, sweeping the top three spots in diving, and winning the 100 meter backstroke, but in the end Hargrave's depth carried the day.
FUMA Highlights:
* Cadets Calhoun (Junior), Sevier (Freshman) and Halfpap (Junior) qualified for the State Championship meet in the 100 Breaststroke.
* Cadet Brown (Sophomore) qualified for the State Championship meet in the 50 Freestyle.
* Cadet Rivas (Senior) posted personal best times in the 200 IM and 100 Fly.
* 1st place finishes by W. Trainor (50 yard freestyle and 100 yard backstroke events).
* Cadets Brown, Hedges and Anetz placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Diving.
* FUMA also won the 200 meter freestyle relay.
