FUMA Ends Swim Season with Victories
FUMA swimming and diving ended the dual meet season strongly with wins over Orange County High School and Massaponax. The double-dual meet was hosted by Orange at the Fairview Pool in Charlottesville. The unofficial final scores were FUMA 74-Orange HS 56 and FUMA 81-Massaponax 48. FUMA ends the regular season with a record of 9-5. The team is poised for great championship swimming. The conference championship will be held in Richmond (St. Catherine's School) February 3-4, and the state championship will be held at the University of Virginia February 17-18.
FUMA Highlights
Cadet Halfpap (Sophomore) placed second in the 100 breaststroke.
Cadet Sevier (Freshman) placed second in the 200 meter freestyle and 100 meter freestyle events.
Cadet Malley (Sophomore) finished second in the 500 meter freestyle.
Cadet Regnier (Senior) placed fourth in the 50 meter freestyle and 100 meter freestyle events.
Cadet Rivas (Senior) placed second in the 200 IM and third in the 100 fly.
First place finishes by senior W. Trainor (50 meter freestyle and 100 meter fly events).
Cadet Calhoun (Junior) placed second in the 50 meter freestyle and first 100 meter breaststroke.
FUMA won the 200 and 400 meter freestyle relays.
