Woodberry tops FUMA Swimmers 101-77
On December 9, in this year's first away swim meet, FUMA battled Woodberry Forest School furiously, but came up short to the Tigers, a team that was second in the state last year. In the past WFS would schedule FUMA as their first meet in order to tune-up for "bigger" competitions. Thus the quality and size of this year's team came as a surprise to the Woodberry swimmers and coaches. This is even more remarkable considering that FUMA took only a little over half of its squad to the meet. Judging by the score of this meet, FUMA has become a force to be reckoned with.
FUMA Highlights:
37 personal best times
1st place finishes by W. Trainor (50 and 100 yard freestyle events)
1st place finish by J. Sevier (100 yard breaststroke event)
1st place finish by J. Brown (1 meter diving)
FUMA dominated WFS in diving by placing 1st, 2nd, and 4th.
