FUMA Lends a Helping Hand
Bev Hanlin, Registrar/Community Service Sponsor at FUMA, has been very busy since the start of the academic year assisting others in need around the community and this year the outreach has gone to several states in need. The projects the Academy has undertaken this year include the following:
* Worked at the local nursing home helping with the Halloween party
* Helped at the Fluvanna Christian Society Christmas party for those in need
* Worked at the Palmyra Village Christmas program and lit the town tree
* Sung at various nursing homes and churches
* Collected $5,000.00 for Tsunami Relief
* Collected $5,000.00 for Hurricane Katrina Relief
* Collected 328 Bibles to send to Katrina victims
* Had a food drive to get food for the local food bank - this was a company competition and Alpha Company was the winner
* Worked at the Heritage Trail project - this is a walking/biking trail that is being built locally
We want to thank everyone for their help in making these projects a success and keeping the spirit of goodwill alive among our cadets and FUMA family. May God Bless everyone this holiday season.
