FUMA vs. Collegiate, Chancellor, and Woodbury Forest
FUMA's wrestling team is making great improvements, which are showing themselves in this match that took place last Friday. More wrestlers are scoring team points by having more points at the end of the third period, and more of our wrestlers have been getting pins. FUMA lost against every team it faced in the Quad, but scores were showing improvements, but forfeits were a major cause of at least one FUMA loss. Here are some of the highlights of the contest:

Max Graham had a tense match that involved plenty of intimidation and circling as Max's opponent tried to stall the match. Max repeatedly smacked the other wrestler, trying to get him to make a mistake. A warning for stalling was called, and then a penalty to the wrestler J. Darden from Woodbury Forest. Max went on to score 14 points on his opponent, giving FUMA 4 points. Max Graham went 3-0 with 1 bye and two wins, earning FUMA a total of 12 points.

Nate Rix had an exciting match against W. Glenn from Woodbury Forest. He scored a takedown in the first period as well as a caution, giving his opponent a penalty point. The second period got him a reversal from down position. Once Nate was on top, he kept him down by picking up his legs and slamming them down onto the mat. The third period Nate Rix was neutral, and scored a takedown on Glenn, and again, using the same tactics, kept him down until time ran out, scoring three team points and a win. This time, Rix went 2-1, showing his improving skills.

Charlie Wilson scored for the team every time he walked onto the mat with two technical falls and one pin for a grand total of 16 points for FUMA.

FUMA is getting better and better as the season moves on, and we hope to be a winner in the state championship this year. FUMA's next match is an away Quad match on Friday the 14th at St. Christopher's.
