First wrestling match of the season held at Louisa High

By Cadet Bryan Halfpap
The first match of the wrestling season took place in Louisa High, where 10 varsity wrestlers from FUMA competed in a tournament with three other schools: Louisa, Rappahannock, and Courtland.

Below are the names and weight classes of the wrestlers for FUMA:

Tim Brown - 103
Max Graham - 112
Reed – 130
Chae - 135
Pearre - 140
Barnes - 140
Adamzic – 145
Klestinec - 160
Ciaropello - 189
Carrol - 215

All three teams that FUMA wrestled were surprisingly good. The final scores were: FUMA vs. Rappahannock- 46 to 45, FUMA. FUMA vs. Courtland- 24-65, Courtland. FUMA vs. Louisa- 3-73, Louisa.

Despite FUMA losses, there were still some stars on the mat. Max Graham pinned his opponent from Rappahannock in an astonishing 18 seconds, and Tim Brown got the most points on his opponent without a pin, having a total of 15 on his opponent from Rappahannock

Injured people included Pearre, who stopped wrestling for a short time for bleeding from his nose. Reed also stopped wrestling after his match ended with a hurt knee. Last but not least, Max Graham was injured after his opponent delivered a harsh crossface to his head and started to bleed, taking a few minutes on the sidelines to clean up.

The next wrestling match is scheduled to be next Friday and Saturday.
