Jr. Prep pounds Hargrave

Junior Prep took on Hargrave Military School yesterday, Thursday September 16, in a 41-0 blowout.
In the first quarter the Blue Devils shocked Hargrave with a tremendous offensive assault, scoring 21 points in the first quarter. Drive after drive, FUMA made Hargrave pay for challenging them on their home turf. The First TD was scored in the first 15 seconds of the game when Cadet Howard ran the kickoff back 75 yards and into the end zone.
On the drive after that Michael Garrity threw an amazing pass to Mario Scott who burned the opposition and ran it into the end zone uncontested. Two more touchdowns were scored before the half by Michael Walker and Frank Walker, who both ran them in, making the score at the half, 28-0. The Hargrave team looked demoralized, as if someone had robbed them.
The second half was "everybody gets playing time" for the Fork Union Team, and "oh no, we have to go out there again" for the Hargrave team. Cadet Braun scored a FUMA touchdown in the second half, bringing the score to 35-0. Cody Wright added another touchdown late in the fourth quarter, putting FUMA ahead 41-0. On Hargrave's final drive, it looked as though they might score a TD, but their hopes were shattered when #17 Cadet Shermer intercepted the ball on the goal line with seconds to go. The final score FUMA 41, Hargrave 0.
