FUMA Alum begins his 3rd season on television

"Red Arrow," the hunting/adventure television show created and hosted by Kip Campbell (FUMA '99) begins its third season on The Sportsman Channel this evening, Tuesday June 29th at 7:30pm. The show can be seen on most cable providers, as well as Dish (ch. 285) and DirecTV (ch. 605). Learn more on the show's Facebook page or website (http://www.RedArrowTV.com).

Delegate D. Page Elmore passes away

D. Page Elmore, FUMA Class of 1958, passed away on June 26, 2010. He was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates. He served from January 2003 until his death, representing district 38A which encompasses Somerset and Wicomico Counties. He was also the Chairman of the Eastern Shore Delegation. Mr. Elmore also served on the Ways and Means Committee.

NOT too late for Summer School admission!

Fork Union Military Academy Summer session is around the corner. There is still time to apply for admission to our 4 week summer program which begins July 5th. The admissions office will be open all week in preparation for the session. This is a great opportunity to get ahead by taking a new class or improving your GPA by repeating 2 classes you wish you had performed better in.

ESL and Traditional Summer School around the corner..........

ESL and Traditional Summer School will begin classes on July 5, 2010. It's not too late to apply. You can complete the on-line application. Please call me (434-842-4202) or email at mcilnayc@fuma.org and I will be happy to explain the programs and answer any questions you might have. This is a wonderful way to get a jump start on the fall or repeat some classes that might need repeating. Our ESL Summer School is always very popular.

Fork Union Math instructor and Football and Track coach CPT Steve McCoy at the kisok this weekend

CPT Steve McCoy will represent Fork Union Military Academy at the kiosk (outside of Macy's on the 2nd floor) this weekend. Coach McCoy works with the football and track programs and teaches math in our upper school. Our Summer entry point is around the corner and now is an ideal time to look at enrolling your son for our summer session or next fall. Please stop by and say hello.

CPT McCoy will be at the kiosk June 19th and 20th.

With the upcoming Hall of Fame Celebrity Golf Tournament scheduled for this Friday, June 18th, Coach Shuman expects to be seeing a lot of familiar faces in the days ahead as past postgraduate athletes and others play some golf and help raise money for scholarships.

VAMS Fairs this weekend - Tysons Corner and Bethesda

Interested in admission to the summer or fall programs? Our admissions and financial aid offices will be on the road in Tysons Corner (Saturday 10am-2pm) and Bethesda MD (Sunday 1-4 pm).

LTC Steve Macek, Director of Admissions, LTC Todd Giszack, Director of Financial Aid and CPT Brooks Berry, Admissions and PG Basketball will be on hand to answer questions you may have about the school.

General Jackson announces plans for his retirement from Fork Union Military Academy

Fork Union Military Academy President Lt. General John E. Jackson, Jr. publicly announced Thursday that he will retire on July 1, 2011, confirming the transition plan that had been in place with the school's Board of Trustees for the past five years.
