Chapel message, 3/25/10

The chapel message today focused on Hebrews 12:1-2. Many times in our lives, we are wounded spiritually in our Christian walk. Sometimes, those wounds are caused by "friendly fire," at the hands of fellow Christians.

Chapel message, 3/23/10

During our first chapel service back from Spring Break, I spoke to the cadets about storms that arise in our lives. These disruptive events in our journey can be devastating to us, but I reminded the cadets that we are never alone.
I shared the account in Mark 4:35-41 about Jesus' calming of the storm. I pointed out that while God can indeed calm these storms in our lives, sometimes the storms rage on. I was motivated to share this message after reading this quote: "Sometimes God calms the storms in our lives. The other times He chooses to ride them with us."

After Spring Break

This is the happy look most cadets have on the evening back from Spring Break. This cadet Hill who has been with me for three years now, he is more then familiar with the routine.

Chapel message, 3/11/10

As we had our last chapel service before Spring Break, we looked at Proverbs 26:11 - "As a dog returns to his own vomit, so a fool repeats his folly" (NKJV). I reminded the cadets that we here at FUMA try to give them Godly instruction based on the teachings of Jesus Christ so that they might be able to make the right decisions in life. And when they find themselves on leave this coming week, they encounter temptations that have led them astray in the past.

The Development Team has been raising money through the Phonathon for over 15 years and each year the goal continues to increase. Last year the team was successful in collecting close to 80% of the monies which were pledged and they hope that this year will yield even better results.
