Middle School Victories

Friday, December 9th was a good day for Middle School athletics. Woodberry tops FUMA Swimmers 101-77

On December 9, in this year's first away swim meet, FUMA battled Woodberry Forest School furiously, but came up short to the Tigers, a team that was second in the state last year. In the past WFS would schedule FUMA as their first meet in order to tune-up for "bigger" competitions. Thus the quality and size of this year's team came as a surprise to the Woodberry swimmers and coaches. This is even more remarkable considering that FUMA took only a little over half of its squad to the meet. Judging by the score of this meet, FUMA has become a force to be reckoned with.

Over 80 Schools Attend FUMA Football Combine

Well over 100 college coaches were in attendance as FUMA's Varsity and Prep players strutted their stuff in the 40, various agility drills, live scrimmage, and even a slam dunk contest. Coaches John Shuman and Micky Sullivan were pleased with the turnout, and judging by the interest shown by the visiting coaches, the college programs liked what they saw. Combine Highlights: Jacoby Ford 4.19 forty(12 other players turn in 4.4-4.5 forty) James Peters Best lineman 3-cone shuttle: 7.09 James Peters Best pro-agility: 4.31 Brandon Smith Won the dunk contest.
