Blue Devils knock off St. Christopher's 31-6

The Fork Union Military Academy prep football team defeated St. Christopher's 31-6 in the state playoffs to advance to the state championship to be played Saturday, November 20, 2004 at 12:00 noon at Collegiate in Richmond. Curtiss Powell ran for two touchdowns and 210 yards. Tyrone Wilson scored FUMA's first touchdown on an 18-yard run, and quarterback Jefferson added a touchdown with a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Dallas radio talking about FUMA

Coach Micky Sullivan and MAJ John Devault were recent guests on the Friday Night Gladiators radio program in Dallas, Texas to talk about FUMA and our football program. FUMA has been a sponsor of this program on one of Dallas' leading sports talk stations, "The Ticket" AM1310, since August, 2004.

Blue Devils vie for state championship

The prep football team will once again vie for the state championship when the Blue Devils travel to Collegiate in Richmond on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at 12:00 noon to face the Cougars for the title.

FUMA Cadets selected to District Chorus

District Chorus Auditions were held Saturday morning at Amherst High School. The following cadets were awarded a seat through competitive audition at the District Chorus Festival to be held February 11-12, 2005 in Charlottesville. Veterans Day Ceremony honors FUMA's fallen

The Cadet Corps of Fork Union Military Academy honored our nation's veterans with a beautiful and dramatic ceremony November 11, 2004 on the campus in Fork Union, Virginia. As darkness fell, the entire corps formed up on Fraley Circle. The bugle sounded, the alumni cannon fired and the cadets began a solemn march to FUMA's Veterans Memorial on which are inscribed the names of FUMA alumni who gave their lives in the service and defense of our nation. LTG John Jackson, President of FUMA, presented the Veterans Day Address honoring those who served and remembering those who had fallen.

FUMA's Prep Football Team Advances to the Playoffs.

By Cadet Matt Perry The air was briskly cold last Saturday as the Fork Union Blue Devils triumphed over Valley Forge by a score of 24-8. By winning this game, the Blue Devils qualified for the playoffs for the 3rd straight year in a row. Valley Forge, a little overconfident, only brought about 24 people to the game, and the Blue Devils made them pay by scoring 21 points in the first half and confining Valley Forge to less than 5 first downs. The FUMA offense dominated in the first half.

Prep Football to face St. Chris in first round

FUMA's prep football team will face off against St. Christopher's in the first round of the VISFA state playoffs. The game will be played at St. Christopher's in Richmond, VA on Saturday, November 13, 2004 at 12:00 noon.

The Cowboy Hat Season.

By Cadet Matt Perry Jr. Prep Football was victorious against Benedictine last Thursday, 36-8, in a contest that that put Fork Union on the top of the mountain where they will reside until next football season. The name of this mountain: "Undefeated Season." The Fork Union offense was unstoppable. The offensive player of the game was Malik Banana, who scored his first two touchdowns of the year.
