Junior Prep Air Raid Unstoppable.

By Cadet Matt Perry Is there any JV or Jr. Prep team out there that can contend with The FUMA Blue Devils? Every opponent, so far, has been SMASHED by an incomparable FUMA offense, and a hard-hitting defense. The Fork Union Jr. Prep team took on Episcopal High School Thursday, Sept. 23, in a game that left EHS running back home with a 44-6 loss. FUMA received the ball first, allowing offensive all-star, Mario Scott, to set the tone. He did so, running the kickoff 80 yards back into the end zone for six.

JV Soccer plays season opener

By CDR Rob Paylor The FUMA JV Soccer team opened its season by traveling to Virginia Episcopal School (VES) on Tuesday, September 21. The weather was absolutely beautiful in the wake of recent storms (hurricane Ivan) and the lads were ready for some competition. The game was underway at 4:30 pm, and early on the Blue Devils had a chance to test their defensive skills as VES aggressively played offense. John Malley did an outstanding job in the goal position, fending off more than a few shots from VES, and holding them to just 1 goal scored.

FUMA Prep Soccer comes up short against VES

Fork Union's Prep soccer continues to improve their game. In a match that was much closer than the score implies, the Blue Devils came up short against VES (4-1) losing 4 to 1. The Blue Devils scored the first goal of the game well into the first half on a solo shot by sophomore forward Eddie Golden. VES answered with 2 scores near the end of the first half. VES' other two goals came in the second half, one a result of a penalty called inside the 18. FUMA travels to Richmond next Tuesday to take on Collegiate School. Kickoff is at 4 pm.

Prep Soccer vs. Norfolk Academy

By MAJ Steve Macek The Blue Devils traveled to Norfolk VA to take on Top-Ranked Norfolk Academy on Friday September 17th. Battling the number one team is generally a tough ordeal. Mix in the winds of a former hurricane, and you have a unique gaming experience. FUMA stayed in the game early on, but succumbed to a powerful front-line attack. The result was a 6-0 loss. Next up: VES in the first home game of the season.
