Supporting FUMA

Giving to Fork Union Military Academy can take many forms. Alumni, parents, grandparents and friends can support the Academy in the following ways:

• Cash gifts
• Pledges
• Planned Gifts
• Stocks and/or Securities
• Gifts-in-kind, such as personal property or real estate
• Matching gifts from employers

Each gift to the Academy, whether through one's estate or as a cash gift, is vitally important to the longevity of the school. Each generation from 1898 to the present has seen special people step forward to nurture, guide, and grow the Academy. It is through the support of these contributors that Fork Union Military Academy is able to continue its mission.

Opportunities to Give

Each year, the Academy provides many different opportunities for individuals to help support its mission through special appeals.

Annual Giving Campaign

A letter is mailed to all the Academy's constituents providing them with an opportunity to donate to the school primarily through a cash gift or pledge.

Phonathon

The Academy's annual Phonathon held in the Spring is an excellent way to increase the annual giving contributions to the Academy. Cadets contact alumni across the nation encouraging them to support the school.

Silent Auction

This event is held in conjunction with Alumni Weekend. Parents, alumni and friends have the opportunity to donate items such as furniture, collectibles, gift certificates, weekend get-a-ways, antique cars, artwork and a host of other gift-in-kind contributions. The money raised helps support scholarship funds for cadets and for the past several of years has brought in over $25,000 annually.

Golf Tournaments

The Alumni Weekend and Celebrity Golf Tournaments provide a great way for alumni and friends to come together and raise money for scholarship funds.

This list is not inclusive of all the ways one can give to the Academy throughout the year. There are many more ways to support the Academy through scholarship programs, Parents Association programs and other fundraising events.
