Corporate & Foundation Support
Fork Union Military Academy seeks to generate financial support for Academy priorities by establishing mutually beneficial relationships with corporations, foundations, and other philanthropic organizations and associations.
As they enjoy financial success, many corporations seek to give back to their communities by supporting philantrophic enterprise. Such corporations and private foundations, which are created to support charitable causes, have established criteria for grants and often seek to support educational opportunities. By working with the appropriate directors of corporations and foundations, Fork Union Military Academy has been able to secure additional dollars in support of professional faculty development, such as a recent grant from the Edward E. Ford Foundation, and funds for scholarship assistance through corporate support of FUMA's Silent Auction and Alumni and Celebrity Golf Tournaments.
Often an alumnus, parent, grandparent, or friend of the Academy who has an association with the corporation or foundation helps the school to establish the initial bond, which is then followed by a proposal requesting support. By working with corporations, foundations and other philanthropic organizations and associations, the Academy can help to realize its priorities and accomplish specific goals and at the same time assist the corporation, foundation, or association in achieving its philanthropic mission through an effective partnership.
