Varsity Lacrosse
Fri, 04/03/2009 - 8:35am
My son plays varsity lacrosse and I live 4hrs away. All the games with the exception of 1 Saturday game are on Tuesday or Thursday.
This makes it difficult for me to see my son play. Is there a specific reason for this. I wanted to know if there could be some consideration made in the future to schedule more games on the weekend. My son is only a freshman and I would like to be able to see him play more then once during the season.
Thank you,
PBokus

I checked with our Athletic Director and he notified me that the games are normally played on Tuesdays and Thursdays for several reasons:
Our cadets have drill practice on Mondays and Wednesdays which would be in conflict with the games.
A lot of times the other schools schedules need to be considered which would prevent Saturday games.
In the spring, there are parades every Sunday starting the end of April. Sometimes practice is being held on Saturdays or other spring activities would come in conflict with the games.
Also, it would prevent some cadets on going on leave weekends, when they are permitted to go home
For the most part, the Spring games at the Academy are scheduled during the week with the exception of some track meets and make up games.

I'm not sure of the answer to your question, but I know my colleague Mrs. Liles has asked the athletic department for some feedback on this...
