Selected members of FUMA's Band are participating in the 32nd Annual Military School Band Festival at Valley Forge Military Academy and College this weekend.

This is a great article from the Philly Inquirer:

Can't wait to see how FUMA's cadets do and we will keep you posted!

This is Cindy Evans, your FUMA reporter on the scene. Now back to you Captain Thompson at FUMA Central.

Sorry for the delay in reporting back to ya'll! Timothy Beasley (I think) was the only FUMA cadet in the Jazz Band and he had a rocking solo. Chief Patterson played bass in the Jazz Band as well and he can rock the house too!

The FUMA cadet who plays the Tenor Sax was First Chair (sorry I don't have his name - the program has gone missing). Congratulations to him because Valley Forge was a force to be reckoned with and he beat out one of their cadets for this first chair slot.

The concert was very good. The conductor was Valley Forge's Music Department Chair and a Brit to boot. I love British humor and we got a good dose of that. Highlights included a Blues Brothers Medley and a selection from "Jesus Christ Superstar." And with the conductor being British we got an interesting sampling of British compositions.

It's at least 10 years before Caleb will be a cadet; he's only 5! And Micah's not too hip on a PG year! So, I am sure another FUMA parent will be glad to step into the Roving Reporter slot.

The next big Music Department event is the VAIS Choral Festival to be held at Norfolk Academy, I believe at the end of March. So I will keep you posted on that one - I can't miss it - it's too close to my home!

Thank you, Cindy! I guess we're not going to get you to sign on for an additional postgraduate parent year either? How soon before your younger son shows up?
