Friends Lost...
Sun, 12/12/2004 - 1:55pm
No matter where I go or what I do in life, I'll always remember Kjellen Gallegos and Eddie Herrera. Its a shame to lose two great people such as them. And in this time of war, lets not forget Troy Lorenzo Gregory, who lost his life defending our freedoms. I know I am only naming a scant few, but these are the ones who were closest to me. I tip my hat to every lost soul wether they be cadet, family, faculty or otherwise.

I'll always remembet Kjellen as the quiet guy on the wrestling team who was the master of leg moves. He used to regularly whip my butt while hardly ever using his arms.
We weren't close, but he was a genuinely nice guy. I was saddned by the news of his death. Especially since it was reported that it happened under strange circumstances..

It hurts to hear about Kjellen. I spent some time talking with him at length and still have a few of his drawings that he gave me in a box somewhere. Even after all these years, I was going to name my son after him, but was trumped by my wife. Had heard about him from Chad Taylor who heard it from Dribble and I about fell over. At least I had to sit down. Wish I could and would have gotten to know him better then I accually did. He help me get through some trying times at FUMA. My prayers to his family. God bless.

Mike,
I believe it was a motorcycle accident, but never heard more beyond that.

Eddie passed away? Eddie from Herndon, VA? I read about Gallegos, but I never heard how he died.

For me it was realy sad when I heard about Eddie. I called Shawn that day and heard it form him. Eddie was one of my best friends and one of the finest human beings I have ever met.
I still can't believe that we lost him. Those of us who knew him, and those very fortunate ones that he called friends will never forget him.

I'm glad to read that people are still keeping my brother alive in their memories. Well, the past couple of years have been extremely difficult for my family and me. But, as we all know life goes on and time heals all wounds some... There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about that day, or even at least an hour that passes w/o thinking about him. Thanks Shawn for being with me at the scene and for your assistance from the beginning to the end. I'm sure my brother wouldn't have wanted it any other way. I read once that people who pass away choose who they want to be there for their last moments. So with that in mind I am honored to have been there and I hope you feel the same. In memory of Eduardo Luis Herrera class of 1992.

Eddie died in a motorcycle accident 10/28/01. His brother and I were present at the scene. It was probably the worst day of my life. Shawn Coble 1992

What happened to Eddie?
Hello,
Was Eddie Herrera the younger or older brother? I remember them both. What happened to Eddie? I have had handfuls of people I know in my age group die for different reasons. I think someone posted something about noticing that also. Shame. Starry, I believe I was with you in the Junior School. I was class of 89' but left FUMA after my freshman year. Take care all.
Mason Preddy

Hey guys, I have been in contact with Kjellens family for years. He was my roommate in 89. I still speak to his mom somewhat regularly. They way she explained it to me was that he was shot in the back of the head. Kinda hard to do that yourself. He was at his fathers home in New Mexico preparing for a trip to Argentina.
Dont sound like suicide to me...
