Fork Union Basketball School with Coach Fletcher Arritt

26th Annual Basketball School
July 8-12, 2012
Ages 9-16

Fork Union Basketball School has existed since 1985 under the direction of Coach Fletcher Arritt.

During the school year, Coach Arritt teaches at Fork Union Military Academy and coaches the post-graduate basketball team. His players move on each year to the college ranks. You can find posted in the Thomas Gym, where they practice and play, an impressive list of the athletes from Fork Union who are currently playing in college. These same players are the core of his teaching staff. Other staff members are veteran coaches familiar with Coach Arritt's philosophies, strategies, and goals.

During the camp, Coach Arritt can be found day and night, checking on everything going on at the Basketball School. In the more than nineteen years of directing the camp, his wife has also been present, helping with other details of camp life. In the time spent here, campers are educated in the fundamentals of the game, good sportsmanship, social skills, and the importance of team work.

Coach Arritt continues to instill his enthusisam and love of the sport to all that come in contact with him. He says, "My goal is to teach the game and pull all efforts together into bringing each individual and their game up to another level."
